iBuild Festive

iBuild Festive is a lively teambuilding activity designed to spark collaboration, joyful communication, and clever strategy. The mission is simple but challenging: build an exact replica of a secret holiday model visible only to part of your team. With playful restrictions on communication and festive roles to embrace, teams must craft a clever plan to construct with the highest accuracy all under a twinkling, celebratory atmosphere.

This immersive, festive challenge places participants in a scenario where teamwork and strategy shine. Each role brings a unique festive flair, and success depends on careful coordination, active listening, and clear planning.

The activity quickly reveals team strengths and areas for improvement: participants structure their communication, handle time pressure, and adapt in real time – all while laughing and enjoying the holiday spirit. A reflective debrief, optionally followed by a second round, ensures deep learning and festive fun.

Beyond team bonding, this experience sharpens essential skills such as collaboration, stress management, clarity in communication, and collective agility – all wrapped in a joyful, seasonal setting.

Teams are divided into four festive roles, each with a playful holiday accessory:

• Santa: the only team member who sees the original holiday model. Santa is the keeper of the festive blueprint, stationary and communicating only with the Reindeer.
• Elf: tasked with recreating the model without ever seeing it. Elf can only ask yes/​no questions to the Snowman and communicate back-to-back with the Reindeer.
• Reindeer: the lively messenger between Santa and the Elf, spreading holiday instructions without ever seeing the model.
• Snowman: the magical overseer who sees both the original model and the ongoing construction. Snowman can move freely but communicates only with ​“yes” or ​“no” signals, keeping the game playful and whimsical.

With communication limited, teams must invent a method to share information effectively. They quickly see what works – and what needs adjusting – under a twinkling time limit.

At the end of the challenge, all constructions are compared to the original festive model. Teams immediately discover whether their communication magic worked and how accurate their replication was.

If time allows, a second round with a new holiday model lets teams refine their strategy and spread even more seasonal cheer.
