ASL Airlines Belgium, the largest cargo airline in Belgium, headquartered at Liège Airport, aimed to provide a dynamic and inclusive teambuilding experience for its diverse team of employees. With a fleet of over 30 aircraft and a network spanning from China to the United States, collaboration and team spirit are crucial within the company. Therefore, they chose the Global Festival Game, an innovative teambuilding activity that combines games, music, and teamwork.
The challenge
How do you bring 300 employees, ranging from pilots to technical staff, together in an activity that stimulates teamwork while also providing relaxation?The activity needed to be accessible to all participants, regardless of their role, while simultaneously strengthening the interpersonal relationships within ASL Airlines.
The solution: Global Festival Game
Upon arrival at the impressive Domaine du Château d’Hélécine, participants received a festival wristband and a tablet. They were then divided into teams and given the freedom to explore various festival stages. Each stage represented a different music genre and featured unique challenges, ranging from mental puzzles to physical and musical tasks. The goal? Earn as many points as possible and collect seconds for the afterparty.
Here’s a glimpse of some of the stages and challenges:
- Jazz & Blues: Music quiz and improvisation challenges
- Rock & Metal: Lip-reading song lyrics and an air drum battle
- Pop: Karaoke challenge and dance battle
- House & Techno: Rhythm tasks and DJ simulation
- Hip-Hop & R&B: Freestyle rap challenge and breakdance moves
- Traditional & World Music: Cultural music questions and percussion workshops
After 90 minutes of excitement and fun, the scores were collected. The winning team was crowned “Festival King of the Day,” and all participants celebrated together during an electrifying afterparty. The higher the collective score, the longer the DJ kept the beats going!
